Peer Critique-Kristina Adeku

In this painting I see trees, bushes, hills,  and grass.  In my classmate Kristina Adeku's art work, it's showing a forest and trees from  up close in a darker shade of green while the other trees that are further in the distant are a lighter green. For the bushes she uses oval and circle shapes, and everything is identifiable. Lines in this art work are used for the tree trunks, the branches, the grass, and also the outline of the hills. The shapes are used to create the objects in the painting. The texture on the leaves of the trees in the painting is nice because it makes it look like the leaves are similar to a real tree. I feel like the viewers eyes first notice the slightly lighter tree shadows in the lighter part of the painting, then they notice the close up tree shadows the details.  I think the most important part of the artwork is the trees, because they stand out the most and play a big part in the artwork.  The Artist created this piece because she got inspired by something similar on pinterest. To me this art is giving a peaceful and relaxing vibe, the green just radiates a positive feeling and the fact that the scene is a forest as well. I love this art piece, to be I just love the colors and the foggy and peaceful feeling it gives off. I think the artist did best with the color selection, what I think could improve are the shapes, and a bit of the texture for the leaves. If I were the artist I'd probably add more details into the shape and add more grass as well, and connect some of the random splotches that aren't connected to anything.

In this classmates painting I see a girl falling, and around her are spirals that kinda create an Illusion. The colors black and white are used for the background, and the colors used for the girl falling are tan for the skin, brown for the dress, and dark brown for the hair. These colors make the person stand out more than the background. A shape I see that Is visible In the painting are circles, Tania said that her person In the painting fell off a cliff, so the painting scene Is just how the person Is feeling as they fall.  In this painting there are not any unknown objects. In Tania's art work lines are used to make the spirals, and the shapes are used to make the girl falling In the painting. There Isn't really any type of texture In her art , and the viewers eye first lands on the girl, then the background. In Tania's art piece you see the girl falling with her arms reaching up, this makes me feel a bit sad for the girl because the painting gives off the feeling of dispair, and a loss of hope.  Tania created this piece because of her fear of heights, and falling from a cliff, so she made this painting to show that. I really like this art work because of the spirals and how nicely the girl is painted, In my opinion what Tania did best was how she painted the girl and did the pose so nicely. I don't really dislike anything, but I feel like she could have made the hair, hands, and spirals more neat.
